Events are usually enter-on-the-day (EOD) with entry open to all-comers unless specified otherwise.


Sunday 15th August

Freemans Waterhole
Minor Event
Venue: From Freemans Waterhole head south for approximately 2.75km and turn right into Becks Road. Travel approximately 150m and park underneath powerline or beside the road
Map: Jigadee Jog 1:10,000
Courses: Blue and Green point–to–point courses. Orange, Short and Long Red will be a combination of line courses and score courses e.g. the first 2 controls might be point–to–point then the next couple in any order etc. If you would prefer to do a training run, please ask for a copy of the Master Map to plan your training around the controls in the forest.
Entries: Enter on the day, at time to suit you, 9:30-11:30, Courses close at 1:00pm

Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd August
The State Mountain Bike Super Series
Event 6 & 7
Venue: Event 6 Wallaroo State Forest – From Sydney, drive north on the F3. Turn right then left onto Pacific Highway north of Newcastle, and travel past Raymond Terrace. Approx 14km past Raymond Terrace follow MTBO signs to parking and assembly area.

Event 7 Killingworth – From Sydney head north via the F3. Take the Toronto exit, and turn right toward Toronto. After crossing freeway (about 400m) turn left into Wakefield Rd and travel (about 9.5 km) through Wakefield toward Barnsley. Just before Barnsley turn left toward Killingworth and follow the Broadway through Killingworth, turning right into the Boulevarde towards West Wallsend. After about 500m there is a dirt access track to the area but do not drive on this. Instead please park along the road you are on, keeping well to the side and not blocking access to any electrical facilities.
Entries: Pre entry is preferred however enter on the day will be available. Further details are available on the MTBO website


Sunday 5th September
NOY7 - Glendale
Venue: From the Glendale Crossroads, take Main Road (west, as if heading for Edgeworth) for 0.6 km. Turn north (right) at the first set of lights into Frederick St. Then turn right into Oakland Street. Travel about 250m to the School Bus Bay and enter Glendale Technology High through the green gate at the rear of the bus bay. Follow the dirt track 100m to the assembly area.

Sunday 19th September
NOY8 - Killingworth
Venue: From the Glendale Crossroads head west for 3.2 km. Turn left at the big roundabout at the top of the rise (toward Barnsley, 2.5km). At Barnsley, turn left into Wakefield Rd. After 0.8 km turn right into The Broadway towards Killingworth. After 2.5km turn right into The Boulevarde, head north towards West Wallsend. Watch for and follow O-signs to the start
From the F3 (Toronto exit) go toward Toronto (Palmers Rd). Turn left into Wakefield Dr and head north. About 3 km past Wakefield and before reaching Barnsley, turn left into The Broadway.

Format: Traditional bush orienteering
Starts: generally 9:30-11:30am

Summer Street Series (SSS)
Format: Urban score course orienteering
Events: 17 with best 10 scoring
Starts: generally 5:00-6:30pm

Park Tour
Format: Park based orienteering with some street areas
Events: 3 Qualifying events and a Final. Two night events.

Format: Could be any format but advertised prior to event.
Starts: generally 9:30- 11:30am

Coaching Events
Format: Specialised coaching events.
Entry: pre-entry is usually required.

Bike Orienteering Summer Street (BOSS)
It’s very similar to Foot Bush Orienteering except that you are of course riding your bike along tracks in the bush.
Format: 75 minute score course.
Events: 5 with best 3 scoring
Starts: generally 8:00-9:00am

RISK NOTICE
In entering an orienteering event, competitors recognise that the activity has certain inherent risks due to its conduct in the urban and natural environments. Included in these risks are injury due to rough terrain and obstacles and the effects of heat, cold and exhaustion. Competitors are also aware that there is no personal accident insurance on their participation in the sport and that they take part at their own risk.
